Garrett Fugate
Spin it coach
Garrett grew up in Overland Park, Kansas where he attended BVNW high school. At BVNW Garrett was a three-sport athlete, playing football, basketball and running track. A two-year starter and captain on the football team he earned all-conference and all-state honors while setting the single-season passing record for yards and touchdowns. Earned a Shrine Bowl selection and was a semi-finalist for the Simone Award. In basketball, Garrett was a three-year letterman and team captain and all-conference player his senior year. Played in three consecutive state championships. Won conference in the 4x1 and 4x4 anchoring both races.
In college went on to be a two-year starter at the University of Central Missouri. In those two years, he amassed over 7500 total yards and 65 touchdowns on his way to being an all-conference and all American player. Including a two-time semi-finalist for the Harlon Hill award which is the Heisman for division 2 football. After graduating college in 2016 Garrett went on to work out privately for multiple NFL teams. He then signed in the CFL with the Montreal Alouettes and was with them for some of the 2018 season. In 2019 he signed with the New York Guardians of the XFL and was apart of their team until the season ended early due to Covid-19.
Garrett has been training with Coach Hoover as a player since 2013. After graduating college he also transitioned to coaching with the Spin It group and has been coaching with Spin it since 2017. Garrett will also coach QBs at Shawnee Mission East this fall.
